About the Author

Tom Burns brings together a unique blend of technical expertise, ministry experience, and a lifelong passion for helping people discover a deeper relationship with God. His journey spans more than five decades in the information technology industry and more than forty years of ministry, teaching, and prophetic service.

Following his retirement from the technology sector, Tom and his wife, Becky, relocated to the Charlotte, North Carolina, area, where they joined MorningStar Fellowship Church. There, Tom became actively involved with the church’s prophetic ministry teams and later served as both a team leader and mentor.

While at MorningStar, Tom also became involved with Christ’s Mandate for Missions (CMM), an international missions organization that partnered closely with the church in global outreach efforts. Through that relationship, he began ministering online to believers around the world and was later ordained through CMM.

After several years in the Charlotte area, Tom and Becky returned to their rural home in central North Carolina. Today, Tom continues to serve with CMM by providing technical support, leadership, and training, as he mentors ministry teams and participates in online international ministry initiatives that equip believers across multiple nations and cultures.

Tom has developed a particular passion for serving Russian-speaking churches throughout Kazakhstan, Russia, and Central Asia. He has also taught and ministered online to established and emerging Christian leaders in India, Myanmar, French-speaking North Africa, and French-speaking nations in Europe. As an international teacher and conference speaker, he is known for his practical, accessible approach to teaching on prophetic ministry, spiritual growth, and life with Holy Spirit.

In recognition of his ongoing commitment to equipping Christian leaders through international ministry, CMM College of Theology awarded Tom the Doctor of Global Leadership degree. The honor reflects many years of service dedicated to strengthening leaders and expanding access to biblical training worldwide.

Drawing from both his professional and ministry backgrounds, Tom has a unique ability to communicate complex subjects in ways that are understandable and relevant to everyday life. His teaching emphasizes developing an authentic relationship with God, hearing the voice of Holy Spirit, growing in spiritual maturity, and living a life that reflects the character and presence of Christ.

His greatest desire is to help believers move beyond simply knowing about God to experiencing the joy of an intimate, lifelong relationship with Him.
